Dear Reader,

Luxembourg is home to a dynamic startup ecosystem and is an attractive European investment hub for startups looking to scale up their activities. Launched in 2015 by the Ministry of the Economy, and managed by Luxinnovation, the National Agency for Innovation and Research in Luxembourg, Fit4Start has, in only a few years, become the leading programme for launching and accelerating startups in Luxembourg. Indeed, Fit4Start programme helps startups by offering acceleration programmes and connecting them with R&D and business partners, investors, incubators and innovation hubs.

Now might just be the right time to apply for this international startup acceleration programme as calls opened on 15 March and run until 15 April 2021 for startups active in the ICT and Space sector. Selected startups will have access to attractive pre-seed funding of up to €150.000, expert coaching, and access to key networks. Due to the current situation, pitching and coaching will take place online. You can learn more and register online in the below article.

This newsletter contains also the link to a study prepared by the Market Intelligence of Luxinnovation that provides a unique overview of business opportunities after Covid-19. This pandemic has indeed reshaped the way to do business and put forward specific sectors such as the Health Technologies or the digitalization of the supply chains which demonstrated their high importance.

On 16 March 2021, the Financial Times published the “Special Report Luxembourg: Data and Innovation”, with several articles focusing on the dynamic and successful economic diversification strategy of the Grand Duchy towards a sustainable and data-driven economy. I invite you to read these articles to grasp the ambitious strategy based on a solid legal and ethical framework, especially for Artificial Intelligence.
