Dear Friends and Readers,

Luxembourg is taking a further step to anchor its pioneering position in the Space sector. During the 71st International Aeronautical Congress, the Minister of the Economy Mr. Franz Fayot took part in the virtual signing of the Artemis Agreements, a program led by NASA that plans to send the first woman and the next man to the moon’s surface by 2024. Luxembourg thus joins the circle of founding members who will play a key role in this major project.

In line with the national strategy for data-driven innovation, Luxembourg has gained its place among the most advanced countries thanks to a government policy designed to encourage high tech industry and especially the Space sector.

Luxembourg plays an important role as a business hub in Europe. Postponed due to COVID-19, ICT Spring Europe took place virtually and partially physically in Luxembourg in September 2020 to display the latest tech trends, meet virtually with international innovators and startups from all over the world and find business partners in the EU market. Supported by the Ministry of the Economy, the Luxembourg Trade and Investment Offices in their various countries of accreditation proceeded to a selection of a limited number of innovative local startups to grant them a free virtual booth during this Global Tech fair. The identified startups will also benefit in the future from advice and contact facilitation with relevant ecosystems in Luxembourg and in Europe.

The Grand Duchy is indeed an ideal base for any business entity in Europe, in particular thanks to the quality of the multicultural and skilled workforce. A recent ranking from the Swiss institute IMD indicates that Luxembourg ranks as the 3rd most competitive country in terms of development, attraction and retention of talent worldwide and has even seen a consistent improvement over the past five years, progressing from 11th to 3rd.

Finally yet importantly, we would like to inform you that the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce and its Enterprise Europe Network, together with Farvest Group, will organize the DIGITAL ICT Week from 30th November to 4th December 2020. The event will take place virtually and will integrate several highlights such as the IT One Gala Awards and the Web Summit side event. In addition to the highlight events, the DIGITAL ICT Week will encompass a rich and varied programme related to Artificial Intelligence, Fintech, Space, Supply Chain and Cyber Security.
